Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to join our team. As an Estimator at Allen Schrock Builders, you will play a pivotal role in the planning and execution of construction projects. You will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs, preparing bids, and collaborating with our project management and sales teams to ensure successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to determine project requirements.
  • Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for residential and commercial construction projects.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.
  • Evaluate and compare subcontractor bids and proposals.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of cost estimates and historical project data.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and team members to ensure project success.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and post-bid negotiations.
  • Assist in value engineering efforts to optimize project costs.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, pricing, and new construction technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Business (preferred).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an estimator in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and processes.
  • Experience in construction estimating software.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of local building codes and regulations (preferred).
